I know what it feels like to want better training, stronger skills, and a more meaningful practice — and to feel frustrated by courses that don’t quite deliver.
that frustration shaped everything I built.
Blend Therapy Training was created to give therapists the kind of education I was searching for myself: practical, professionally grounded, confidence-building training that helps you understand what you’re doing and why.
explore training pathwaysI came what felt like a very long way to create what didn’t exist.
How it all began
Like many therapists, I started out with a genuine desire to help people — but after my basic training, I quickly realised there was still so much more to learn if I wanted to work in a way that felt skilled, focused and truly effective.
I invested every spare penny into advanced training. Some of it was helpful. Some of it felt vague, generalised, or disappointing. I knew I wanted something deeper and more clinically useful, but at the time I wasn’t sure where to find it.
Then a throwaway comment from my dental surgeon about massage and TMJD sent me down a completely different path.
Drawing on nearly 20 years as a dental nurse, alongside my clinical massage training, I began developing my own soft-tissue protocol while working with volunteer patients in practice. In 2000, that work became TMJ Therapy®.
As the work developed, so did the demand. I saw first-hand how needed this approach was — and I knew I had to find a way to teach it clearly to others.
In 2005, I taught my first course in massage for TMJD. After teaching hundreds of therapists over the following years, I founded Blend Therapy Training in 2015 to create a broader school for therapists who wanted more than surface-level techniques.

Since then, Blend Therapy Training has delivered TMJ Therapy® education to hundreds of practitioners in the UK and internationally, while continuing to grow into a wider training school for therapists who want clear, practical, professionally grounded development.
Our aim is to help therapists build confidence in:
Anatomy and bodywork principles
Soft-tissue and fascial technique development
Ethical and professional client communication
Safe and appropriate practitioner scope
Integrating jaw-focused bodywork into broader clinical skills
We don’t just teach TMJ Therapy®.
We also teach broader bodywork, soft-tissue techniques, fascial concepts, intra-oral work within scope, and structured assessment approaches — always with a focus on safe, ethical, non-medical practice.
I believe that
every therapist deserves the chance to build a successful, fulfilling practice
For the last 26 years, I’ve dedicated my work to helping therapists build confidence, deepen their skillset, and create practices they can feel proud of.
Not through hype.
Not through vague promises.
But through practical training, honest teaching, and the kind of support that helps therapists grow in a way that feels real and sustainable.
Why Therapists Trust My Teaching
I am the Founder of the British TMJD Symposium where I invited leading speakers from different disciplines and from around the world to share their expertise side by side, so therapists could learn from a richer, more joined-up approach to TMJD.
My aim was (and still is) to raise standards, spark better clinical thinking, and build a community where knowledge is shared openly — because when we collaborate across disciplines, clients get better care.
I’m a sought-after speaker and author in this field, and have presented internationally, including in Copenhagen at MassageSkolen alongside Gunna Højgaard, as well as at leading events such as the British Fascia Symposium.
I regularly appear in webinars for professional organisations and have contributed to publications including Today’s Therapist and ThinkTree Hub, as well as best-selling textbooks in clinical bodywork and specialist ScarWork.
What matters most to me, though, is not just where I’ve spoken — it’s that therapists leave my training feeling clearer, more capable, and more confident in practice.

What You Do
As your skills, understanding and confidence grow, so can the impact of your work in clinic.
With a more structured, assessment-led approach, you’re better placed to ask thoughtful questions, make clearer decisions, and tailor your work more purposefully to the client in front of you.
Over time, this can support stronger professional confidence, a better client experience, and a reputation that may help you attract repeat clients and word-of-mouth recommendations.
What We Do
- Blend advanced massage techniques, myofascial bodywork, trigger point work, with assessment and aftercare for a fully rounded considered approach.
- Gentle soft-tissue techniques (external and optional intra-oral)
- Slow, responsive, client-led pacing
- Breath and body awareness to support relaxation
- Clear communication and consent-led practice
- Practical self-care education and guidance within scope
What We Don’t Do
- Work outside consent and comfort — no “push through pain” approach
- Use fear-based language or claim that certain symptoms definitely mean a serious condition
- Make claims that a technique will work for everyone, or that results are permanent
- Diagnose TMJD or any medical or dental condition
- Claim to treat, cure or prevent medical disorders
- Replace dental, medical or specialist care
- Make guarantees about outcomes
Our Aim:
To create a safe, respectful environment.
Where clients feel informed, comfortable and supported — and where therapists are trained to work clearly and professionally within scope.
